Two reels and the score

Two independent uniform reels show hexadecimal symbols 0–9 and A–F. A–F have values 10–15. Read n = 16 × first + second + 1, uniformly distributed from 1 to 256. The score counts factors of 5 in n × (n + 1) × (n + 2); repeated factors count separately. The minimum statistic is 0, so subtracting it leaves the statistic unchanged. Among 256 outcomes, scores 0, 1, 2 and 3 occur 103, 123, 24 and 6 times.

Weight, mean and gross return

Choose score s, square s² or cube s³ before starting. For power p = 1, 2 or 3, the gross multiplier is 0.96 × 256 × s^p / W, where W is the sum of that weight over all 256 outcomes: 189, 273 or 477 respectively. The exact means are those sums divided by 256. Gross return includes any returned stake; net change is gross return minus the captured stake. A zero score returns zero in every mode.

Stakes and settlement timing

Select stake 10, 20, 50 or 100 play coins; the default is 20 and linear weight. One start samples both reels and deducts one stake. Stake and mode controls, restoration and another start lock while busy; sound remains available. Normal animation settles after 500 milliseconds, subject to frame scheduling. With reduced motion it settles on the first animation frame. There is no intermediate collection, pause button, row bet, bonus feature or automatic round queue.

Integer credit, carry and restoration

Without a saved nonnegative balance the wallet starts at 1000 play coins. Settlement credits floor(stake × gross multiplier + stored fractional carry). The remaining fraction is saved for later rounds; a zero return leaves carry unchanged. Carry stays between 0 and 1 and persists across settlement, restoration and reload. Restore balance works manually while idle below 10 coins and sets the balance to exactly 1000, rather than adding 1000. It does not clear carry.

Exact expectation and sample limits

The exact expected raw gross return is 24/25, or 96% of the captured stake, in all three modes. It is neither a win probability nor a guaranteed session result. Across the 256 equally likely reel pairs, summing each mode’s weight gives its exact normalization. Saved source-matching simulations use one million rounds per mode and measured approximately 95.77%, 96.03% and 96.25%. These are sample observations, not the payout law. Persistent carry reconciles fractions over settlements; an individual integer credit can differ from raw return.
